Alternatives to Rambox, Ferdium and WebCatalog for Social Media Accounts
Rambox, Ferdium and WebCatalog come up quickly when you search for a way to keep many web accounts in one window. They are established tools, and for many people they are the right answer.
If your work is mostly social accounts for several clients, though, the questions change: does each client’s session stay apart, does the tool fit a day spent inside Instagram, LinkedIn or TikTok, and what does it cost over time? This article compares the three on those questions, fairly, and says where CommunityGlows fits.
How to read this comparison. We make CommunityGlows, so keep that in mind. Everything said about Rambox, Ferdium and WebCatalog comes from their own public pages and their AlternativeTo listings, as recorded in our competitor review as of 2026-09-05 (vendor pages were read on 2026-08-03). These are capabilities the vendors declare; we have not run hands-on tests, and we do not rate their quality. Products change, so check each site before you decide.
What the three tools have in common
All three are desktop apps that bring web apps together in one window. They organize those apps into workspaces and accept several accounts for the same service. Their focus is broad: messaging, chat, email and productivity tools, with social networks as one family among many.
That breadth is a strength if you want all your web tools in one place. It matters less if your day is spent inside a handful of social networks, for several clients.
Rambox
What its sources describe. A desktop workspace that gathers apps and accounts, with workspaces, multi-login, hibernation of inactive apps and an offer for teams. Our review notes organization by client or project, multiple instances of an app and focus features, with a free tier and a paid Pro tier.
A good fit if you want your messaging and work apps organized by client or project in one desktop window, and a team offer may matter later.

Ferdium
What its sources describe. An open-source app that brings together more than 100 services, accepts several accounts and custom services, and keeps data local with optional sync. Our review also notes that it can be used without an account, and that it offers hibernation and workspaces.
A good fit if you want a free, open-source tool with a very large catalog, and local data matters to you.

WebCatalog
What its sources describe. An app that turns websites into desktop apps, with a very large catalog, workspaces, and several isolated accounts for the same app. Our review also notes custom app creation, profiles, a sandbox per app, a browser extension and team deployment.
A good fit if you like each website living as its own desktop app, or you need to turn a site that is not in any catalog into one.
Worth saying plainly: WebCatalog also isolates accounts. Isolation alone is not what sets CommunityGlows apart from it; the difference lies in what the app is built around.

Where CommunityGlows differs, and where it does not
CommunityGlows is a Windows and Android app built only around social accounts and community work.
What it is built around:
- One profile per client. A profile is a work context: you, Client A, Client B. Each profile-and-network pair runs in its own isolated session, with its own cookies, storage and cache: a dedicated WebView2 data folder on Windows, a native WebView profile on Android.
- The networks themselves. A catalog of more than 50 social networks and services, plus your own links, such as a client’s shared folder or analytics.
- Social work habits. On Windows, a profile’s networks side by side. Focus controls such as grayscale, muted media and text size where the network allows it. Tasks with notes, links, priorities and due dates for follow-ups.
- A one-time price. A 30-day trial with no card, then lifetime access for €149 incl. VAT, paid once. No subscription.
Where it does not compete, today:
- Platforms. CommunityGlows runs on Windows and Android. macOS, Linux and iPhone versions are planned, but development has not started and there is no date. If you work on a Mac, check the download pages of the other tools.
- Breadth. Its catalog is centered on social networks. If you want every messaging, chat and email app in one window, a general workspace is built for that.
- Free and open source. CommunityGlows is neither. Ferdium is.
- Team offer. CommunityGlows has one offer, a lifetime licence. If you need features designed for teams, look at the vendors that publish a team offer.
It also has firm limits, whatever you compare it with. Isolation is not anonymity: networks still see your device and connection, and their rules still apply. The same network added twice inside one profile shares that profile’s session. And it does not automate actions or promise to get around platform checks.
Which one fits which situation?
| Your situation | Look first at |
|---|---|
| Messaging, email and many web apps, organized by client or project, with a team offer | Rambox |
| A free, open-source tool with 100+ services and local data | Ferdium |
| Websites turned into their own desktop apps, with isolated accounts per app | WebCatalog |
| Several clients’ social accounts, one profile per client, isolated sessions per profile and network, on Windows or Android, paid once | CommunityGlows |
| A Mac or Linux computer | Not CommunityGlows today; check each vendor’s download page |
Test before you choose
Whatever tool you try, run the same checks on the networks you actually use:
- The A-B-A test. Sign in as Account A in one context, open the same network in a second context and check that A does not appear, sign in as B, then go back to A. Our guide to separating accounts on one device explains it.
- Sign-in. Some networks refuse sign-in or add checks inside embedded views. Try each network you need during the trial.
- Your password manager. In apps built on embedded web views, your browser’s password manager may not appear. Check the one you use.
- What syncs. Ask whether your sign-ins travel between devices. In CommunityGlows they never do; here is what stays local and what syncs.

Choose the tool that matches your day
If your work is “all my web apps in one window”, Rambox, Ferdium or WebCatalog may serve you better. If it is “several clients’ social accounts, each signed in and kept apart”, see CommunityGlows for community managers and our guide to staying signed in to several Instagram and LinkedIn accounts.
